Ochha Dehe Golf Club

I had some high expectations before my round today because a number of my friends have had nothing but great things to say about this course. It sure lived up to the hype. The staff throughout the course was top notch, all the way from the pro-shop, starter, outdoor crew to the marshal. The practice facilities are great. Nice driving range with equally great mats if you're not hitting off the grass. The short game area is well put together and allows you to practice those tough pitch shot distances that are normally too long for your local practice area. They have a number of putting greens, but the one on top of the hill right next to the first tee is my favorite because of the views. The course itself is tough but fair and in perfect condition. The greens are great and play at a fair speed. I live in the east bay so it was certainly an all day affair to get up and back home but it's worth it and a fun destination spot. The group I went with was thinking of coming back and staying a night with our significant others to check out the spa and casino as well. I highly recommend the course and thinks it's a must try for any serious golfer in the bay area.

Fairways have lots of dried up spots, many were cart path only which made very difficult. the greens are aerated, they are bumpy and very slow. The level of customer service has dismissed since last time I was there. However, the beverage cart in the course was well stocked, the attendants were pleasant and checked in with us often. At the end of our round. We were greeted by an attendant who asked about our experience, cleaned our golf clubs and provided us with ice cold hand towels which were very welcomed as the weather was very hot. I won't go back until the course conditions improve.

Tucked away a few miles off the main road you are brought into the Yocha Dehe world. Not a single car, horn, or any noise can be heard from the course. All that is heard are birds chirping, wind swirling, and clubs clattering. The service level here is top notch. Bags are dropped off at the club house where they are then loaded onto the cart down below. On the cart you will find a cooler with ice and water, gps system, and plush comfy seats. The course itself is maintained to the highest degree. Greens role pure and fast. The front nine offers a variety of elevated shots while the back nine delivers a lot memorable holes. My two favorite parts of this course were the cold mango scented towels waiting on the 18th green and enjoying a cocktail on the patio chairs overlooking the course.
